So, Where's the Book?

The book is finished.

A banished star rises.

Lightning falls.

An oath of blood and soul is made.

Leonidas Andros has never asked much of the gods. Now, they demand everything of him. Taken beyond the simple village and life he knew, he sets out to answer a grievous offense against the world entire. Blessed and cursed, broken and blood-sworn, he prays to battle evil without becoming it…

Elsewhere in the kingdom, a divine prince of thieves must discover who has been slaughtering the members of his family’s criminal enterprise. Armored in wealth and luck, Aaron Raltuno dreams up a daring plan to force these assassins into the light. Even he cannot anticipate the ringing consequences to follow, or the mighty adversaries his steps will bring him sprinting towards.

As a god chafes in exile, poisoning the land with betrayal, and a mad lord moves to seize control of everything, these men of golden blood must carve their paths through myth and history alike.

A Mockery of Peace is here with me now, staring up from the desktop as I type this, soon to be on its way to the wider world. It is no small thing, drafting and preparing a novel for publication. While certainly my favorite portion of the work, it has proven itself to be only a fierce opening move in a bloody battle toward glory.

I’ve discovered just how markedly different getting a book published is from getting it written on the page. Overnight I’ve inherited self-appointed roles like brand ambassador, marketing team, legal advisor, business negotiator, document-formatting specialist, and various increasingly pompous assignments to entertain myself while I scramble frantically online. It’s sheer madness, and one might safely assume I’ve been thriving inside it.

Worry not, reader, and leave these grueling bits to yours truly. In the meantime, there remains a bounty of short-format works available for your consideration across my website and social media accounts. These can be helpful in affirming that my prose and writing style appeal to you in particular, and I’ve been told they’re action-packed and thought-provoking when compared against their brief length.

You’ve already been introduced to my blog, where I can be found rambling in circles with unbearable composition and eloquence. Come here to watch me dance about like a jester of words and phrases, arguing moot points to no one and imparting my thoughts on all things writing. I also post updates regarding new content releases, my publishing journey, and my personal life. I fear the last is severely lacking on account of the first two, yet what experiences I do snatch often make for a rousing enough tale.

When you grow weary of the man, he encourages you to move next to the myth. My website features a dedicated lore repository, richly-detailed with the history of the Mockery of Peace universe. It does not, and will never, contain any meaningful spoilers for the book itself. Instead, it serves as a way to prepare for the novel and familiarize yourself with the broader world.

We live now in dangerous times, so I feel an official statement is in order. None of my written work is, has been, or ever will be generated by any kind of AI system. For better or worse, my words remain my own.

My social media accounts like Reddit and Substack are where I will occasionally share works beyond the Mockery of Peace universe, showcasing everything from medieval monster-hunting found families to crude-mouthed space operas unfolding between the stars. I've also been known to participate in discussion posts, thought pieces, and the like. There I can be found taking myself much less-than seriously, which makes for enjoyable conversation in between projects. These posts roll out with alarming regularity for any concerned for my physical wellbeing, so I recommend just sitting back and enjoying the show.

Again: The book is here with me now and, need I move heaven and earth, soon enough it’ll be on its way to you. Check the shelves constantly, and all that. I beg you, please, try not to hurt yourself in your haste to line up for the first release. There will be plenty of copies to go around, and a cramped yet eternally glad set of hands to sign each upon request.

Leonidas Andros and Aaron Raltuno. The Empyrean and the Lucky Man. These aren’t just names on a character card. They live and breathe across the page, their hearts as heavy as any man’s and their struggles as keenly felt. Find them at their lowest, and soar to new heights. Discover the distinction between hero and villain when navigating a world of bleak danger, impossible foes, and choices which are ever more bloody than clean.
